BAYELSA YOUTHS TAKE ADVANTAGE OF ICT TRAINING PROGRAMME MOUNTED BY THE MINISTRY OF SCIENCE, TECHNOLOGY & MANPOWER DEVELOPMENT

Bayelsa Youths have every reason to smile. So many of them will soon realize their aspirations of acquiring marketable skills for empowerment. Youths now have the opportunity to be trained in various packages in ICT. This is in keeping with the vision for the Ministry is “To make Bayelsa State a global pivot of Science Technology, Research & Innovation-driven development.



 
The Ministry is vigorously pursuing the goals of manpower development in a broader context. Specifically, the Ministry is waging a kind of crusade to popularize computer literacy.
The overarching goals of the Ministry are:

1. To promote, popularize and drive the development of Science & Technology as means of fostering innovation and development of endogenous technological capabilities to global standards in various sectors of the economy in Bayelsa State.
2. To create an enabling environment to explore the natural endowments of our people, harness their talents, skills and energies, to build a critical mass of world class human capital required to foster wealth creation national prosperity and improved quality of life for the citizenry.

Today, my social media research team made it to one of the hands-on training sessions in the Ministry. Within a broader concept of human capital development, which the Restoration Agenda is pushing, the Ministry under the able leadership of Barr. (Mrs) Didi Walson-Jack, is now playing a pioneering role of promoting techno-vocational Training among youths. Please, our youths should take advantage of such training opportunities.
